Summary of project results

Dorog is one of the most polluted cities in Hungary. The aim of the project was to reduce environmental pollution through social control of industrial plants, factories and mines. The main target group was the inhabitants of Dorog, affected by environmental pollution. The project promoter organized 22 public sightseeing tours in the city's industrial facilities. These were organized with dual content, first were organized conversations about the relevant facility, the part in the pollution and about applied methods of pollution reduction. Furthermore there were guided tours in the factories, some time there were extended with some attractive parts as mine blasting, etc. On these occasions the participants (residents, companies, non-governmental organizations, media) and the population's expectations were forwarded to the companies. In addition, they writen articles on these plant visits and publish them in our newspaper - so they called the companies to the media space. Furthermore there was a training material designed for NGOs about the results and experience of the project.
