Description

In a short time more than 60; in many cases dominant families had moved away from Hidasnemeti and Slovak families have moved to their houses. The wholesome tie, the cohesion of the community seems to begin perishing. Several new community-developing focused projects have been launched recently in the area. However, in this new situation community development needs to be reconsidered. The organization wants a more productive community-developing activity, to strengthen the identity of the settlement, to encourage people to be more open to each other; realise their local inner recourses, and assist citizens to become more pro-active.

Summary of project results

The community cohesions in Hidasnémeti had been lost. People made each other stronger. The people’s sensitivity to the marginalized sections of society decreased. They have made an action plan that together with the voluntary work of their membership provide the sustainability. The action does not stop with the end of the project, because the program members continue the work. They feel it necessary to achieve a renewal of methods and to form partnerships in order todevelop the voluntary community circle associated to the Hidasnémeti Foundation. Because of the project the community life of the settlement was renewed. They had planned to involve new volunteers to the NGO, to make connections with other organizations, and they succeeded with the help of municipal actions organized in the town. They organized best practice visits, trainings, community events (for example Meeting of Generations), and they also wrote an action plan which helps the operation of the NGO in the future. The beneficiaries were involved in numerous activities organized in Hidasnémeti.
