Description

Action „Roma open museum“ is needed to implement in municipality of Darda to strengthen Roma population, to preserve Roma tradition and culture towards Roma and non Roma population. The aim of the action is to promote civil inclusion and integration of Roma in the municipality of Darda. Expected results are empowered local Roma population, 4 workshops implemented with young Roma and non Roma, involved 10 to 15 youngsters through researches, exhibition on open called „Roma open museum“ with 10 to 15 photographic and texts about famous Roma people around the world. We expect the exhibition to be seen by 50 to 100 citizens, the exhibition should be installed on 8th of April for International Roma Day in cinema in Darda which visited 100 Roma and non Roma. Moreover, 2 workshops about discrimination implemented for 15 to 20 Roma and non Roma increased level of knowing how integration Roma in society is important, printed and distributed 150 flyers and 50 t-shirts and increased level of volunteering.

Summary of project results

RKUD Darda is very proud on its project "Roma open museum". Activity included 22 young people who had been working through all project in order to achieve as much as possible successfull results set within the project. With this project, association increased and strengthen Roma community about importance of voluntary engagement, raised awareness on importance of inclusion and integration of Roma community in society and thus strengthen local Roma population. For the International Roma Day they organised exhibition of famous Roma around the world that was visited by more that 100 Roma and non-Roma people. They implemented 4 workshops with young Roma and non-Roma participants and organised outdoor exhibition at the local market called "Roma open museum" visited by approximately 80 people. In addition they printed and distributed 150 flyers, 20 posters and 50 T-shirts in order to raise importance of the activity to higher level. Primary school Darda recognised quality of this project and decided to have exhibition of famous Roma photos at the school lobby for two weeks. At the moment "Roma open museum" action is implemented at the Police directorate Osijek-baranja County - prevention department at the Avenue Mall Osijek.
