Description

The project will bring the evidence-based model “Learning environment and pedagogical analysis” from Norway to Estonia. This will improve Estonian teachers' skills and teach them to use evidence-based intervention programs, such as Aggression Replacement Training, Verge, and Motivational Interviewing. It will also bring a practice of open classrooms instead of traditional classrooms to one pilot school in order to implement these new teaching methods. The teacher´s role will simultaneously change from lecturer to mentor. Cooperation between school and community will be strengthened with a view to raise students' motivation and interest in learning, improve student, parent and teacher relationships and increase students' and parents' inclusion in school activities. The project focuses on three types of cultures – class culture, school culture and community culture, which all are seen as very closely related. The Norwegian partners Hedmark University College and Verge Opplæring will contribute with training, consulting and reporting on the implementation of the educational model, and supervise and contribute to the Verge methodology, respectively.
