Description

The aim of the current project is to make internal communication of Estonian Fund for Nature (ELF) better in order to prove the functionality and sustainability of the organization. Current internal communication system was developed nearly 20 years ago and needs updating. The main problems with internal communication have been mapped together with our team: we need regular systematic information exchange, up-do-date conference equipment, procedure to create and close ad hoc project teams and better knowledge on internal communication. During the project up-to-date video conference equipment will be purchased, effective information exchange methods between workers, volunteers and supporters will be developed, new procedure on creating and closing ad hoc project teams will be introduced and the tradition of internal trainings will be created. ELF staff as well as volunteers and supporters will benefit from the project. Improved internal communication will help to communicate environmental problems in the society more efficiently.

Summary of project results

The project aimed to raise Estonian Fund for Nature (ELF) efficiency, sustainability and competence trough effective and modern internal communication. To achieve this goal ELF team members were trained to acquire new technical and professional skills, better technical equipment was purchased and the tradition of internal trainings was implemented. The flow of internal communication improved during the project through several open discussions held on internal communication issues as well as trainings provided (on how to establish and manage ad hoc project teams, on how to use google and other popular online applications etc). New conference equipment was purchased and then tested with different conference software. This has improved the technical skills of ELF workers and volunteers. Very important outcome of the project has been testing and implementing of internal trainings. 8 internal trainings were carried through during the project, after the project these trainings will continue. The trainings were held on various subjects – on how to write projects, on health and safety, on international volunteership etc. The implementation of the internal trainings has improved ELF team´s technical and professional knowledge as well as their motivation.
