The objective of the project is a just and sustainable planet through rising public awareness about sustainability, building capacity of the NEEC by including new volunteers and developing skills of the existing eco-communities and community initiatives.

Summary of project results

The aims of the project were to engage new volunteers to NEEC, to raise knowledge about ecovillage practices, to enhance communication activities and support the existing eco-communities to be sustainable. Outcomes: the target groups and the wider public were systematically informed about activities of NEEC through a newsletters, social media posts, website and press releases to wider media. Also a 200-participant conference „Practical solutions for sustainable economics“ was organised. One key volunteer of NEEC participated at the Global Ecovillage Network European conference in Scotland. 3 volunteers participated in the 7-day community leadership course „Rising together“ in Finland. 4 evening seminars on sustainable issues took place. Raised communication activities brought immediate results in bigger participation rates at our events and more media coverage. As a result of this project, NEEC is able to fulfil it´s mission more professionally.
