Description

Estonian Village Movement Kodukant’s project called “Join the Forces!” aims for stronger advocacy capability among the members of the organization. For that, joint discussions with community activists, village societies and village advocacy organizations in the four counties of low activity (East- and West-Viru County, Põlva and Võru Counties) will be organized. In those four counties, mentor program will be actuated. Mentors will be involved from the counties of higher activity and they will share their experience in village advocacy in their counties. Members from all counties will be invited to the roundtable discussion about NGO management and about the role of the village movement in the society. This will also increase professional knowledge about the third sector.

Summary of project results

Main objective of the initiative was enlargement of the network of village movement Kodukant through active and strong members (County organizations) and rise the capacity of community advocacy, specially in 4 counties - Ida-Viru, Lääne-Viru, Põlva and Võru County. Main achievements are: restarting the activity of village movement in Lääne-Virumaa and Põlvamaa counties; elected new members of board; activated actions in Võrumaa and Ida-Virumaa organizations, preparing the new period of boards; successful cooperation between 4 mentor organizations and 4 mentee organizations; stronger network and membership in village movement; agreements between Kodukant and Ministry of Rural Affairs, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ministry of Finance about civil society activities in village, county, state and international level, involving strong county organizations.
