Description

The project enables six members of the Foundation Maarja Village to become mentors in the foundation and this way to be supporters for other members in their activities in the foundation. These six persons will also create a mentor-programme, which will be introduced nationwide to representatives of the special care provider institutions in Estonia. As workers in special care in Estonia are very often underpaid and stressed, this programme is meant to increase the capabilities and motivation and decrease stress and burn-out among the workers in this field. Two special trainings for Maarja Village workers will also be carried out during this project to increase the quality of service in the organisation.

Summary of project results

The main goal of the project was to increase capabilities and competencies of the members of Foundation Maarja Village. One of the main outcomes of the project was to enable six members of Foundation Maarja Village to become trained mentors and this way to support other members of the foundation in their activities. Another outcome was creation of the Mentor Programme, which was also the main benefit of the project. This programme was also introduced to the members of Estonian Association of Special Care Providers (EASCP). After the project period, Mentor Programme will be available in foundation’s website www.maarjakyla.ee and other organizations are free to adjust it to their own needs. Thus, expected impact of Mentor Programme will hopefully be revealed in the future of other organizations. Beneficiaries were participants, who were actively involved throughout the project and also the disabled children that the participants of the project will work with in the future.
