Description

The project aims at making the analyses, recommendations and assessments of Praxis available and usable among the civil society organizations (CSOs) and the policy makers. The project has five sets of activities. Firstly - Praxis analyzes the web-portals of similar think-tanks and research institutes internationally and maps suitable solutions. Secondly - two discussion seminars will be organized in Estonia to search the actual needs of the target groups with regard to the availability, presentation and user-friendliness of Praxis`s research and analytical work. Thirdly - a web-portal concept paper will be drafted that corresponds to the needs of the target groups and meets the state-of-art technological challenges. Then a visual web-portal solution will be designed and tested; thereafter, a suitable technological basis will be chosen. Also, Praxis’ team will be trained to use the ideas presented in the concept and the chosen solutions.

Summary of project results

Praxis has the capacity to create quality analyses, but was lacking in the capacity to present and disseminate them in electronic channels. The aim of the project was to improve the availability and the use of think tank analyses, recommendations, and estimates both among civil society as well as policy makers. As a result of the project access to analytical works, recommendations and assessments by Praxis have been improved and dissemination among CSOs and policy makers has been enhanced. The project contributed to the dissemination and presentation of high-quality applied research in an easily understandable, simple and user-friendly way. For this purpose the concept paper on how the think tank could present the main results of study reports in a visually attractive and reusable manner was developed and the original web portal visual solution available at http://www.tanelkarp.ee/praxis was created. The enhanced dissemination of the works by Praxis will also help making participation in policy making become more professional and argument-based.
