Project focused on the region Tanvaldsko, a region with is a high number of Roma families. The population of the town Tanvald is about 400-500 Roma people, and about 130 in the neighbouring town Velké Hamry. We focused on children and their parents, we supported their skills and knowledge used in common life. We focused on better adaptability to the main educational system for Roma people. We achieved these objectives by remedial education in Centrum or at home, leisure time activities, hobbies). The total of children taking part on remedial education: 27 in Centrum, 26 at home. We organized 16 activities with participation of 155 people (parents and children), 14 leisure time activities where 344 children and 117 parents took part. In addition, there were 7 specialized workshops for 58 staff-social workers. The obtained information, families´ and children’s habits, contacts and practical output are essential for the sustainability of the project. We made following contributions thanks to the project: the cooperation and mutual understanding of minor and major population groups improved. The project achieved a better and closer cooperation of offices, school and non-profit organizations to improve the quality of education for Roma children and support the families (the results of tutoring quickly showed on school results).
