Description
Project responds to the situation of Roma children and youth living in „hostels“ or in socially excluded areas in Brno. Project activities will improve their life situation mainly through education and leisure time activities directly in the environment, where the children live. We would like to raise their awareness about human rights and accessible sources through social work. Combination of activities and qualities of professional team will help us to support them to change their complicated situation and raise their chances to take long-term part in educational system.
Summary of project results
Project responds on the situation of Romanian children and youth living in hostels or in social excluded areas in Brno. Project activities will improve their life situation mainly through education and leisure time activities directly in the environment, where the children live. We would like to raise their awareness about human rights and accessible sources through social work. Combination of activities and qualities of professional team will help us to support them to change their complicated situation and raise their chances to take long-term part in educational system. We find support of education of children and youth very useful and important. Preparation on educational process would start as soon as possible, because in this way it brings outcomes. Development of streetwork is one of strategic goals of NK Pavlač. Main target of project: To improve quality of life of children, youth and their parents who live in social excluded areas (especially in hostels) through focusing on education development. Project was important for target groups because of providing complex activities connected to education of children and youth living in social excluded localities. Thanks to this, children and youth had possibility to talk with us about: school problems (schoolmates’ relationships, learning, change of school, etc.). Children and youth could attend remedial classes (conducted 2-3 times a week). In case of interest of clients we contacted their teachers. The goal of connection with teachers was improve of raise of chances in education system and provide support to children. Also we connected parents. Very important activity for target group of pre-school children (age 3-7) and their parents was conducting Pre-school education program. Pre-school education program is in these days very in demand in social excluded localities.
