Description

The project is focused on the use of newly developed tools and procedures so that child and family will be equipped with the necessary competencies for the important step towards the hearing society. The project is focused on creating safe and informed environment in schools and in the wider society. In their consequences the outputs of the project promote the children's rights to education in communication system they need. The result of the project will be the basis of systemic and methodically processed procedures for safe and independent entry of the child to a natural children collective.

Summary of project results

The aim of the project was to develop effective tools to promote successful education of children with hearing impairment and to create a comprehensive system ensuring a successful entry into the child's natural children group. Methodologies have been developed to work with the family that will be used long after the project. The project was also aimed at other target groups, such as school and preschool facilities, government, non-profit sector and the general public. For entry to school facilities and the training of necessary skills and competencies that successful, an informative brochure was "Do not worry integration ready in time," which contains the experiences already integrated children, expert opinions, new legislation and information on the organization and support to families with hearing impaired children. To practice the key skills of children were established educational memory game. Regarding educational institutions, was created material containing information on new legislation, but also on the needs of hearing impaired children, the experience already integrated children, as well as other experts, which was sent to selected schools. Also important is the awareness of government, therefore, was created informational material about the services the organization, particularly on early intervention, which was sent to various ORP in the Czech Republic.Thanks to the project also were changes concerning the procedures for services - was to create a "comprehensive package" to enter the child into a school facility to create a database of contacts both school and county officials. Succeeded to establish cooperation with some educational institutions in various regions and the state administration, which is to work with the child's family, is necessary.The project has a positive impact nationwide, touched 317 families with hearing impaired children living on the territory of the Czech Republic, and the long-term.
