Description

The New Civil Code, NOZ (Law no. 89/2012 Coll.),(came into force 1.1.2014) represents a crucial interference in the lives of NGOs in the Czech Republic. The effect of the new legislation calls for active action of the major part of NGOs.This fact brings with it number of problems. Presented project proposal reacts to these problems systemically and comprehensively. Project creates a network of regional advisory points reacting to current legislative issues of the NGOs, sets a sustainable model of information sharing within the network. The knowledge of legislative practice of the New Civil Code is being spread through the network to other organizations, mainly to local NGOs and their key partners (300 instits). It creates info and counseling (web) portal (estimated effect: 10 000 organizations) in order to ensure the fullest possible awareness in the field of New Legislation.The project significantlycontributes to the professional, transparent functioning of NGOs.

Summary of project results

The project Thematic platform for the New legislation has created and established a system of cooperation of the nationwide network of advisory legislation centers, called The Network of NGO for the New Legislation. 28 organizations have been during the course of the project trained on the subject of up-to -date legislation for NGOs in relation to the New civic code. The good and difficult experience has been exchanged amongst the members of the Network. The project has collected feedback and cases, describing the practical impact of New Civic Code to the everyday life of the NGOs. A team of experts has been established (9 experts together) all specializing in New legislation agenda for the Non government organizations. They have also prepared for this project expert materials for each topic (methodology, model documents, information materials, FAQs.) The knowledge and experience gained throughout the course of the project have been shared by the representatives of the Network amongst the NGOs in their regions and amongst the key partners of NGOs, by organizing information workshops in their regions. Over all there have been total of 8 workshops in 6 regions attended by 257 individuals. The project has significantly increased the professionalism and expert capacity of regional organizations providing relevant information and offering advice to other NGOs and their partners. Thus the project have considerably contributed to the professionalism and stability of the whole Non government sector in the Czech Republic.
