Description

Volunteering is a important part of life in the civil society. Corporate volunteering supports connection between business sectors, NGOs represents one of the basic parts of CSR. The aim of the project is to build functional cooperation between companies and NGOs (minimum of 20 firms and 20 NGOs) and to create long-term partnerships. Information of the public is another necessary project part. We will contact companies and NGOs directly and work with them individually with respect to their possibilities and needs. The emphasis will be placed on efficiency. We will communicate with the public through media, social networks and viral activities in Brno. The project brings benefits to companies (effective implementation of CSR in company philosophy at minimal costs) to NGOs (possibility to co-work with volunteers without financial burden) and their clients (thanks to organizational professionalism and possibility to use expert knowledge of volunteers) and in the end to the whole society.

Summary of project results

Ratolest Brno cooperates through its Volunteering Centrum with other NNOs. The project reacted on increasing demand for help with volunteering in NGOs and on offer from the side of cooperating companies to use potential of their employees as one pillar of CSR in their business. The goal of the project was to work on better connection between companies and NGO´s from Brno through business volunteering and mutual enrichment. The goal was fulfilled through various activities. NGO´s benefited from the project thanks to company volunteers and their help and develop their knowledges in various areas (financial and organizational management, cost savings). Cooperating business could offer their employees benefits and develop their CSR and raise their awareness about volunteering. Project helped NGOs, which are providing social services. NGOs received mainly nonfinancial help from cooperating companies in form of manual work and expert consultations, so NGOs safe financial costs and get opportunity to professionalize themselves. For partners from business sector brought project benefits as well, the project decreased administrative workload of their employees because of complete coordination of direct volunteering activities, they could use consultations to improve their CSR strategies and to raise motivation of employees for volunteering and also ensuring medialization was part of the offer. The project also informed the public about volunteering using different tools - distributing leaflets in public places, filming reportage, offering topics for local media, online magazines, disseminating topics of volunteering through social networks and other media.
