The main objective of the project is re-socialization of imprisoned individuals from the target group, which is comprised of persons serving a custodial sentence in Pleven Prison. Summary of project results

The project ambition of the project was to deliver professional training to the prison inmates in the Prison of Pleven in a way to enhance their re-socialization possibilities for after release. The career-oriented training programs has been materialized in valid certificates on professional qualification in several areas. The improvement of the motivation of the prisoners, the acquisition of key competences and the participation in educational and training activities was also meant to contribute to a more reasonable stay in prison. The vulnerable groups were highly represented among the trainees as the share of Roma and other minorities was near 30%. In total 156 imprisoned persons in the Prison of Pleven have been trained on `Interior lining and flooring`, `Hairdressing`, `Welding`, `Basing and finishing works`, as well as on other motivation and social integration topics. The applied intervention model with a practical focus was well accepted by the target group and led to forming additional training groups after according reallocation of funds pursuant to additional agreement with the PO.
