FOGH „St. Sophia“ will periodically organize campaigns with free trainings for parents and prophylactic examinations of pregnant women from risk groups with own resources as well as with the financial support of Sofia Municipality and other programs. During the project 2500 patients were tested for genetic carriers of thalassemia, 200 proteinogrames were made, 500 uninsured pregnant women went through a gynecological examination and 200 patients went through an urological examination. From all of them 82% are representatives of the Roma minority group. After the completion of the project activities, the applicant and the project partner will continue to organise information campaigns among representatives of the Roma community in Sofia Municipality. The accumulated know-how during the project will give leadership the chance to develop similar good practices and find future funding through similar initiatives.
