Description

The project will result with improved access to and quality of health services, including reproductive health and child health.New and mobile services for maternal and child health will be offered to vulnerable groups; reduce the inequality between user groups(with a focus on the Roma population). The specific objectives are: to conduct information campaigns; to provide healthcare advisory services; to conduct training for group health awareness, formation of attitudes and behavior of the target groups for a healthy lifestyle during pregnancy and the newborn child up to 3 year old , child care in early breastfeeding period and the early childhood period.This project and its activities is fully in line with the regional strategy for the Roma integration of Burgas. Moreover, the project activities will use already developed models, and will multiply and build on the best practices from previous projects.

Summary of project results

The overall objective of the project is to improve access and quality of health services, including reproductive health and child health for representatives of vulnerable groups in the municipality of Burgas, Kameno and Ruen. The activities implemented in the project are not well developed in the large urban communities and the distant small villages. the project offers a suitable approach and method to disseminate information through information campaigns and organizing of suitable provision of health and medical and consultative services to pregnant woman and mothers with children from risk groups. Because the target groups are rather specific the programs are combined with additional health services like provision of such for mothers and children in certain health centers to target areas in the project. The main activities of these centers are to be focused towards promotion and distribution of information for health and disease prevention provision of health information health education and consulting, coordination and management of services to pregnant woman and children up to 3 years. During the project 4765 persons from target group were covered (children held consultation: 1263; pediatric examinations: 1309 and advice to pregnant women and young mothers: 2193).
