Description

The project addresses the need of the applicant to build its capacity to raise awareness and attract donors, volunteers and partners to its donation causes. The project aims at raising the skills and knowledge of the applicant’s team via a series of training courses. First, the local community in the town of Sliven will be presented the project. Second, a fundraising strategy and mechanism will be developed. Third, a donation programme will be developed on the applicant’s website. Next, 20 volunteers will take part in a 2-day training on fundraising. Then 30 representatives of the business and state institutions will attend a 1-day seminar on the benefits of giving. Finally, 8 information meetings will be held to introduce the applicant’s fundraising platform to potential donors. The project will benefit the applicant’s team, volunteers, donors and the local community in general.

Summary of project results

The project addressed the need of the project promoter to build its capacity to raise awareness and attract donors, volunteers and partners to its donation causes.The project activities helped the team of Community Donation Fund Sliven and its volunteers acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills for successful fundraising and giving activity after they attended a training workshop and the Strategy for Successful Fundraising was developed. The donation platform created and the information events organized (forums, information meetings), helped the Fund gain popularity among the public and win the trust of more donors. The Fund increased the number of initiatives and charity causes administered. The project also helped raise the awareness of the local community about giving, ways to donate and fundraising. With a view to the ongoing work of the Fund, a positive attitude to giving can be observed among both donors and donation beneficiaries. The following project outcomes were achieved: a Fundraising Strategy laying down the specific steps leading to a successful fundraising by the Fund team; Donation platform developed for fundraising, located on the website of the beneficiary and open public access which makes it easier for donors to give and ensures greater visibility and transparency of giving and the Fund’s activity.
