Description
The project addresses the need to boost the capacity of NGOs in small localities to develop and use sustainable development strategies and fundraising mechanisms. The project aims at raising the financial and organizational sustainability of NGOs in the village of Tetovo through a series of training courses and documents. First, the capacity of the NGOs will be analyzed (situational analysis, focus groups, SWOT analysis). Second, a Code of Conduct, Transparency Standards and Sustainable Development Strategy will be developed for each organization. Third, 2-day training courses and consultations will be provided in areas related to cooperation with volunteers, public authorities and the media, fundraising and project development and management. The partner will help boost the capacity of the NGOs taking part in the project.
Summary of project results
The project addressed the need to boost the capacity of NGOs in small localities to develop and use sustainable development strategies and fundraising mechanisms. The project activities achieved the goal and raised the capacity of the beneficiary and its partners in their capacity as organizations from small towns and villages and created a favourable local work environment. The methods of surveys, focus groups, training and consultations were used. The teams of the three organizations raised their awareness on strategic planning, sustainable financial development and communication with the media, the administration and donors and acquired knowledge about good management of organizations. Some of the impact achieved lies in the commitment of the stakeholders to actions in support of the work of the three organizations for the solution of community problems and thus the increased trust towards the NGO sector and its causes. After the training sessions held, the new volunteers showed interest in joining actively the work of the beneficiary and its partners. They raised their financial literacy and the skills for preparation of project proposals. At the end of the project, the beneficiary applied under an operational programme. The following outputs were developed: 3 analyses, Code of Conduct, the Volunteer’s Guide, 3 strategies for sustainable development of the organization and 3 transparency standards.
