Third, the 30 students will take part in a workshop and team building. Next, the physical exercise opportunities will be mapped. Fourth, a round table will be held to present the map to the stakeholders. Finally, the students, school and municipal staff will be taken on a tour to visit the sport venues. The project will benefit the 30 students, their peers, teachers, school management, the local authorities and the local community in general.

Summary of project results

The project was necessary to improve coordination between local authorities, sport organizations and educational institutions with regard to the physical activity of adolescents in Kazanlak Municipality. The specific goal was to involve the public with this issue and influence the low physical activity of young people. The project helped involve the students, local authorities, educational institutions and the media and they were influenced by the project goal to improve the conditions for active recreation and sport. Long-standing relations were established between the local authorities and the sport clubs which hopefully would stay productive in the future. Informal work with the students had positive impact on their attitude towards nature and sports, they acquired a new attitude towards environmentally-friendly lifestyle that they would develop and promote among their peers. An interactive e-map of the area with free access was created; the map promotes outdoor sports and the related venues. Following the signing of a memorandum with Kazanlak Municipality, the municipal urban development plan (2014-2020) is expected to include sport activities to raise youth activity and promote healthy lifestyle. The educational institutions that took part under the project are expected to include more extracurricular sport activities in their curricula. The e-map created under the project was published on the websites of the Municipality and the two vocational secondary schools which took part in the activities in the hope of contributing to greater interest and development of the conditions for active rest in the municipality. The main participants in the project were the students from two vocational secondary schools in the town of Kazanlak who were actively involved in the creation of the e-map, collection of data about outdoor sport venues, participation in the working meetings, presentations and the round table.
