Description

The project addresses the lack of motivation for education in the children placed at Konstantsa Lyapcheva Children’s Home in the town of Dolna Banya. The project aims at encouraging the children to study with the help of a specialized training course. First, the project experts will study the target group (children aged 7-18) and prepare the training course. Second, the training course made up of 4 modules (independent living; career development; social communication and adaptation; healthcare and prevention) will be presented to the children. Third, the children will attend a 1-day seminar on equal participation of children from institutions in the social and economic life. Finally, the children will receive individual care and counseling for 1 month. The project will benefit the children placed in this home, their teachers, caregivers as well as the local community in general. The partner will provide support with its expertise and the premises for the training.

Summary of project results

As a result of the project, 34 children, 60% of them Roma, all social workers and educators at Konstantsa Lyapcheva Home for Children without Parental Care had access to services not offered by the public sector. The project ensured specialized supplementary training courses not offered before.
