Description

The project addresses aggressive and intolerant behavior among adolescents. The project aims at teaching adolescents to be more tolerant and responsible through active engagement with sports. First, a kick-off press conference will be held to raise public awareness about the project. Second, 40 children and adolescents will take part in a training course of 48 classes. The participants will be divided into 2 groups of children aged 7-14 and adolescents aged 15-18. The course will be divided into 4 sections: karate, conflict resolution, tolerance and communication. Third, 4 open tolerance and anti-aggression lessons will be delivered. Finally, a round table will be held with the participation of all the stakeholders to present the outcome of the project. The project will benefit not only the 40 children and adolescents who took part in it but also their families and the community in general.

Summary of project results

As a result of the project 40 children and young people learned to show tolerance and abstain from aggression as a mode of behaviour. The karate training sessions and the self-defense role-playing helped the participants acquire and develop their sport and communicative skills and raised their motivation for personal development. The public lessons under the project helped other children also join similar initiatives without being formally registered. Tolerance and Anti-aggression Guide was developed and presented at a round table to the young people, parents, institutions and the media. The organization will continue to work on fighting aggression with the support of the community of stakeholders established during the project.
