Description

The project addresses education-related challenges faced by Roma children such as school attendance, performance, discrimination and hate speech targeted at them. The project aims at bringing all the stakeholders together in an attempt to solve the challenges of the Roma community in the town of Lom. First, meetings with parents from the Roma community will be organized to involve them in joint effort. Second, Roma parents will be invited to take part in parents’ evenings at school. Third, round tables will be organized to involve the general public in solving the problem. Next, anti-hate speech campaigns will be held at schools. Finally, meetings of Roma parents with parents of children from other schools will be held to share experience. The project will benefit the children from the two Roma neighbourhoods in Lom, their parents, teachers as well as local authorities and the public in general. The 3 partners will support the project by working with the children and their parents.
