Description

The project addresses the need to ensure greater financial and organizational sustainability of the applicant, the continuity and good quality of its services and raising its budget by 2020 from donated funds. The project aims at developing and introducing a model of organizational and financial sustainability, boosting the applicant’s capacity for fundraising. First, the 6 team members will take part in a 3-day training on fundraising. Next, experience will be exchanged with the 2 partners. Third, a mobile version of the applicant’s website and an application for mobile donation of funds will be developed. Marketing research will be carried out and a fundraising strategy will be developed, followed by a pilot campaign to attract regular donors. Finally, a strategy to use available grant schemes will be drafted. The project will benefit the applicant, boosting its capacity, as well as the users of its services. The 2 partners will support the project with their expertise.

Summary of project results

The project addressed the need to ensure greater financial and organizational sustainability of the project promoter, the continuity and good quality of its services and raising its budget by 2020 from donated funds. As a result of the implemented project, the association has a highly motivated and trained staff. Some key strategic lines of development of the organization by 2020 in the area of fundraising were outlined. The project outputs are as follows: training sessions and working meetings; a market research of donor attitudes; testing the face-to-face channel; a mobile version of the website; 200 registered donors with permanent monthly donations; two press conferences and a conference to present the results from the market research; developed strategies for fundraising and using the available mechanisms to apply for grants.

Summary of bilateral results

The experts from SOS Children’s Villages Norway shared valuable experience in planning, monitoring and evaluating fundraising campaigns in the field of face to face, digital fundraising, social media, direct mailing, organizing events, working with volunteers. Knowledge was transferred also in involving PR and advertising agencies in strategic planning and everyday work. An effective system of communication between the two partnering organisations has been established and will be maintained with a view to quality implementation of further fundraising activities. As a result of intensive exchange of ideas the partners from SOS Children’s Villages Norway intend to carry out a storytelling event shared by the Bulgarian fundraising team. SOS Children’s Villages Bulgaria intends to organize a TV gala, attracting new individual donors, based on the excellent Norwegian experience.
