Summary of project results

The project addressed the low inclusion of young people with autism in the education system and the labour market. It aimed at strengthening and developing the capacity of NGOs and social partners to provide an innovative service to children and young people with disabilities. The service developed helped provide access to education and labour for people with disabilities as well as tools to their families to exercise their civil rights. As a result of the project a functioning model was created for inclusion of people with disabilities in education and the labour market with the support of all stakeholders and via trainings, communication with employers and involvement of their families. The model developed enables all stakeholder organizations to continue to provide the service or plan to provide the service from the beginning with the help of the tools developed, i.e. the methodology, technological elements, results from the communication campaign. Some of the components implemented under the project will continue to be provided after the project end such as ensuring an environment for adaptation to work for people with disabilities, looking for employment opportunities and consultations to the stakeholders. The project involved as direct beneficiaries 24 children and young people with autism, 32 families of people with disabilities and 10 employers. The project was implemented in partnership with Autism Association, Adapta Foundation, Spain, Černorizec Hrabǎr Varna Free University and the Bulgarian Association of Software Companies.
