Description

Direct results of the project are: 1. Increased competence of state and local officials to plan and implement energy efficiency measures and to implement solutions for the utilization of renewable energy in public buildings (trained 300 employees in 10 groups of 30 people in 8 subjects according to the Guidelines for Applicants); 2. Acquired knowledge on the development and reporting of action plans in accordance with national legislation and EU directives on buildings providing professional consulting services (300 state and municipal officials on the topics of education and the development and reporting of state and regional strategies and programs for energy savings); 3. acquired knowledge and skills of state and municipal employees using the advantages of distance learning for the exchange of best practices, case studies and efficient solutions (interaction and collaboration in a virtual community to exchange ideas and knowledge through social network for e-learning, using blogs, wikis, video sharing and Web applications). 4. Increased public awareness about the potential of energy savings by implementing energy efficiency measures and increasing the share of renewable energy and enhanced cooperation between stakeholders in the result of the public events (introductory press conference, seminar and final conference), Internet, as well as through traditional communication channels such as press, radio and television.

Summary of project results

In general, the overall objective of the project is achieved. The satisfaction level of the participants from the opportunity to improve their skills and to upgrade their knowledge in the included in the training topics was very high. The trainings enable the qualitative development, planning and implementation of the measures for energy efficiency and use of renewable energy in public buildings. The successful implementation of the state and regional strategies and programs for EE and RES in turn lead to an improvement of air quality and saving of energy and resources in line with the European targets agreed by the member states of EU and EEA. The specific objectives determined by the project have also been met. Specialized four-day trainings were organized in 10 groups of up to 30 people in 8 topics pursuant to the Guidelines for Applicants. More than 250 state and municipal employees have increased their competencies to plan and implement energy efficiency measures and apply solutions for utilization of renewable energy in public buildings. Professional consulting was made available to them on the development of action plans in accordance with national legislation and EU directives on buildings and others. An opportunity for continuing education was created using the advantages of distance learning for exchange of best practices, case studies and efficient solutions (interaction and collaboration in a virtual community for sharing ideas and knowledge through social network for e-learning, using blogs, wikis, video sharing and web applications). Public awareness and citizens has increased about the opportunities of energy savings by implementing energy efficiency measures and increasing the share of renewable energy through the organization of public, Internet and traditional communication channels such as press, radio and television.
