Description

The aim of the project: Sustainable, integrated local development and increased attractiveness of the region through improvement of the conditions in schools and kindergartens; providing a modern and effective educational infrastructure. Concrete results from the project: 1) Successful partnership achieved; 2) Public procurement procedures carried out and contracts signed with chosen contractors; 3) Pump-station built with a water-meter junction and collective reservoir; 4) A water-main leading to the schools - 3 873 m; 5) Delivered and installed heat-transfer devices – 8pcs; 6) Training seminar in Bulgaria for 25 people carried out; 7) Visits to the partner country for presentation of good practices - 6; 8) Measures for publicity and visibility implemented; Reduced CO2 emissions; Reduced electric energy consumption. Obtaining the project results will create a successful example of partnership; the energy efficiency of the buildings will be improved, thus reducing heating and electric energy expenses. The pollutant gas emissions will be reduced significantly and this will lead to better conditions for educational process. The implementation of project activities concerning joint seminars, good practices exchange and working meetings between the partners will contribute to consolidation of the bilateral relations between the donor countries and the beneficiary country. The project will render grounds and an example for successful partnership between Straldzha municipality and NGOs from different countries having common problems and interest in the field of renewable energy sources.

Summary of project results

The main goal of the project for sustainable, integrated local development and increased attractiveness of the region through improving the conditions In the educational buildings is achieved after putting into operation the centralized heating system using renewable energy source - geothermal water from an existing drilling. This action contributed to the achievement of the main goal of the financial mechanism of the European economic area to reduce economic and social differences within the European economic area. The realization of the project contributed to strengthening and developing human capital on local level, by improving the opinion of young people and families concerning the attractiveness of the region as a place for professional realization and raising children - one of the main premises for sustainable economic development. With the realization of the project 100% of the foreseen results were achieved; 1. Successful partnership between Straldzha municipality, Bulgaria and INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT NORWAY RESEARCH AS - Norway; 2. Carried out public procurement procedures and signed contracts with the selected contractors - 9pcs; 3. Constructed pumping station; 4. Delivered and installed heat-exchangers - 8pcs; 5. Carried out joint training seminar in Bulgaria for 25 participants; 6. Five representatives of the applicant informed of good practices on the territory of the partner country; 7. Visibility and publicity measures applied; 8. Reduced exhaust C02 emissions with 306 t/year; By achieving the planned project results a successful type of partnership was established; the energy efficiency of the buildings was improved reducing heating and electricity costs. Greenhouse gas emissions will be reduced and educational process will become much more comfortable.

Summary of bilateral results

Partner of Straldzha municipality in the current project is the international organization INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT NORWAY RESEARCH AS, Norway, in compliance with the signed partnership agreement from 24.08.2015. This partnership established the beginning of a long- term cooperation creating the opportunity for future activities through the functioning network of partners from Central and Eastern Europe.With a view to the implementation of some activities connected with the working visit to Norway, the three-day seminar in Bulgaria and the exchange of expertise and good practices, the relations with the partner organization - a NGO from the Kingdom of Norway, which is the Programme's donor country, are based on assistance and support. This led to the successful implementation of project activities and the consolidation of the bilateral relations between the donor countries and Bulgaria as a beneficiary.
