Description

The purpose of the Project is the determination of natural conditions in the sense of environmental quality, with special attention to good water quality, of areas designed for Nature 2000 network and their description, with the overall objective of sustainable development in rural areas connected with the Natura 2000 network. Reference is made to the application dated 8 November 2007 and any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: • Description of river catchments and modelling of catchment reactions at various land use • Purchase of equipment • Analysis of processes (filling data gaps) • Trend analysis • Retention and sedimentation analysis • Ecology and hydrology analysis • Extreme flows (floods and low flow) analysis • Recommendations for sustainable development of rural areas: forming a network of local planning/design and participative decision; • Workshops • Project management and publicity The Project promoter is Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) - Department of Hydraulic Engineering and Environmental Recultivation. Subject to national law the Project shall be implemented in partnership with two Polish partners: the Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation – National Research Institute and Kozienicki Landscape Park, and two Norwegian partners: University of Life Sciences (UMB) and Bioforsk-Norwegian Institut for Agricultural and Environmental Research. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Ministry of Science and Higher Education provides at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible Project costs.
