Description

The purpose of the Project is to improve the capacity to detect illegal border crossings, with the overall objective of achieving the EU external border control standards and implementing the Schengen requirements in Poland. Reference is made to the application, dated 25 July 2006, and further correspondence with the Focal Point on 17 August, 30 August and 23 November 2006. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - Preparing and carrying out public tender processes; - Purchase of 25 Live Scanners and bring in operation; - Purchase of 40 MorphoTouch type devices and bring in operation; - Increased fingerprint detection capabilities at border guard units. The Project Promoter is the Commander-in-Chief of the Border Guard. The Project Promoter shall provide at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible project cost.
