Description

The purpose of the Project is to implement new technology for police units in Poland enabling the gathering and sharing of personal identification data, with the overall objective of assuring adequate standards of protection of land, sea and air borders, and an increase in national and Schengen Area security. Reference is made to the application, dated 30 May 2006, and additional information received from the Focal Point, dated 25 August and 17 October 2006. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - Purchase of equipment for electronic fingerprinting; - Purchase of equipment for electronic registration of personal identification data; - Purchase of specialised software for creating and editing files; - Modernisation of stands for automatic mugshot photography; - Training of network and local administrators to use the new equipment. The Project Promoter is the Police Commander in Chief of the Police in Warsaw. The Project Promoter shall provide at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible Project cost.
