Description

The purpose of the Project is the detection of neoplasm diseases at an early stage with the overall objective of decreasing mortality due to breast cancer through early diagnosis and effective treatment in the Podbeskidzie Region. Reference is made to the application dated 15 November 2005, and subsequent information received from or through the Focal Point dated 19 September 2006 and 3 January 2007. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - purchase of equipment necessary for the screening and treatment of patients (a mammograph, an ultrasonograph, a digital radiography set, and an automatic syringe for a tomograph), including disposable materials required for screening tests; - an information campaign (including both media campaigns and targeted mailings); - hiring of five additional staff for increased screening capacity. The Project Promoter is the Beskidzkie Centrum Onkologii.
