Description
The purpose of the Fund is to facilitate mobility of students, teachers, university lecturers, education management staff and teacher assistants to the EEA-EFTA countries, with the overall objective to contribute to human resource development and education by facilitation of mobility, expansion of the knowledge base and promotion of cooperation and partnerships between Latvia and the EEA/EFTA States. Reference is made to the application, dated 15 February 2007. As well as additional information provided by the Focal Point dated 5 April 2007 and 19 June 2007. The completed Fund shall include the following activities and results: - management of the Fund. - selecting approximately 117 students for mobility grants to study in EEA-EFTA countries (Length of grant: 1 semester - 1 year). - selecting approximately 100 teachers, lecturers and management staff for mobility grants to attend courses, lectures and exchange experience in EEA-EFTA countries (Length of grant: 1-6 weeks) - selecting approximately 17 student- teachers for training courses in EEA-EFTA countries (Length of grant: 3 months - 1 year) The Intermediary is the Latvian Academic Programme Agency (APA), a governmental institution supervised by the Ministry of Education and Science. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Intermediary provides at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible costs of the Fund from governmental budget allocations.
