Description

The purpose of the Project is to increase and improve the provision of Norwegian and Scandinavian languages teaching at the Centre of Scandinavian languages at Vilnius University (VU), with the overall objective to strengthen bilateral relations and partnership between Lithuania and Norway . Reference is made to the application dated 3 August 2007 and to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - Reconstruction of a building to expand the capacity of the Centre for Scandinavian studies - Equipping the reconstructed building - Developing a Norwegian-Lithuanian dictionary - Revising of the BA, MA and other course programmes - Developing new grammars and small dictionaries in Scandinavian languages (Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Icelandic) - Project seminar - Management and administration and publicity. The Project Promoter is Vilnius University. Subject to national law the Project shall be implemented in partnership with the University of Oslo. The Focal point shall ensure that the Ministry of Finance provides at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible Project costs and that the Project Promoter provides at least 5.1 percent of the estimated eligible Project costs.
