Description
The purpose of the Project is to provide alternatives to the placement in institutions for the early age children and to improve quality of life for children already living in institution through the renovation of the Kaunas child development centre, Lopselis, located at Lopselio g. 10 in Kaunas and the improvement of the staff training, with the overall objective to prevent placing early age children (up to 3 years old) into institution. Reference is made to the application dated 2 August 2007 and any subsequent correspondance with the Focal Point. The Project will include the following activities and results; - Elaboration of the technical aspects of the project prior to the renovation; - renovation of the building; - purchase of relevant equipment; - parents and staff training and; - Project management and publicity. The Project Promoter is the Kauno vaiko raidos klinika "Lopšelis" (Kaunas Child Development Clinic "Lopselis"). The Focal Point shall ensure that the Lithuanian Government provides at least 15 percent of the total estimated eligible Project costs.
