About the programme area - Public Health Initiatives
The overall objective of the public health programmes is to improve public health and to reduce health inequalities.
About the programmes
In the development of the programmes, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health has given advice on the feasibility and scope of the proposed programme focus and assessment of potential partners. The Norwegian Institute of Public Health assists the programme operators in the development and implementation of the programmes, also by facilitating and arranging study visits to Norway and consulting with experts, as well as assist in identifying potential project partners from the donor state. In some of the programmes, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health also acts as a partner in pre-defined projects.
In the programmes there will be open calls and the programmes are well suited for partnership projects. The project criteria and priorities in the open calls will differ from country to country,please investigate further into each programme when the calls are announced.
Czech Republic: In this programme the open calls focuses on improved psychiatric care and children care. Partnership projects will receive extra points in the selection process.
Estonia: This programme focuses on improvement of mental health services (in particular for children and youth), reproductive and preventive child health care, increased prevention and reduction of lifestyle-related diseases, and improved prevention and treatment of communicable diseases (including HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis). In the programme partnership projects are mandatory.
Hungary: This programme focuses on improved access and quality of health services, including reproductive and preventive child health care, prevention of life-style related diseases and improved mental health services.
Portugal: The programme will contribute to reduce unequal access to health care and health risk related to socio-economic status.
Slovenia: This programme has a focus on improving health equality, preventing life-style related diseases and improving mental health services.
