The aim of the workshop was to share ideas on the gender equality dimension in the new EEA and Norway Grants funding period 2009-14.

Stakeholders from the EEA and Norway Grants donor states and the 15 beneficiary countries came together to discuss issues ranging from the economic case for equality - exploring linkages between investments in gender equality measures and economic growth - to gender-based violence, the challenges facing migrant women, and improving work-life balance.

The Workshop Report sums up the event proceedings, including presentations from all speakers and the ensuing floor debates.

Among the speakers were former Latvian President Vaira Vîíe-Freiberga and associate Professor at the Grenoble Ecole de Management Mark Smith, also a member of the coordinating team for the European Commission’s Expert Group on Gender and Employment (EGGE).
