Description

The project´s primary aim is to improve the quality and humanization of social services through reconstruction, enlargement and modernization of social services - sheltered housing in the Centre ROOM. The project is expected to achieve the following objectives: 1. Creation of new accommodations, creation or renovation of sanitation and kitchen, 2. Reduction of energy consumption, increase of the occupation area per square meter (expanding capacity of existing facilities from 33 persons to 60 persons) and reconstruction of facility buildings and premises. 3. Provision of workshops in renewed room for ancillary and supplementary services. The target group includes victims of domestic gender-based violence, children and Roma minority. Slovak and foreign partners will cooperate in the creation of new methods, acquiring new work practices and new methodologies along with gaining new experiences.

Summary of project results

The social facility BRIEŽDENIE performs since 2000 and this facility help alone mothers and children, which are threated domestic violence. Project DGV was for us expected help and this project help us with upgrading with social services for women and children on higher rank. Safety women house resident in very old building, which don´t verified basic norm and standards (building is registered in The monuments board of the Slovak Republic).This project helped to complete reconstruction our building and rooms. The safety women house build new sublevel our building. Build this sublevel involve new kind of social services – social housing more than 1 year. The project managed to increase our capacity from 33 to 60 seats. Recruited new professional workers: 2 psychologist, 2 social workers,1 educator, 1 chief of safety women house,1 lawyer – external worker, 1 chief of technical. Increasing employment in the region of Turiec. Completely renovate the building facility (even with the new over the floor) from Emergency housing to Safety women house BŽD POKOJ. This safety women house verify basic standards Council of Europe. Resulting outputs: co-operations with partners NETHERLANDS and NORWAY, schedule plan of reconstruction (suppliers and realization od public procurement), housing provision, consulting services professional workers capacity fo BŽD – new workers, building new sublevel to providing social housing capacity increase of our safety women house. Of all the planned changes, that has been achieved a relatively large proportion of our goals. The project has managed to increase our capacity from 33 to 60 seats. Set up and create a completely new social service - social housing from 0 to 19. Completely renovate the building facility (even with the new over the floor) -recovered and refurbished hygienic equipment and kitchens- from 0 to 3. Increase living area per client per m2 - 11.2. Created and restored rooms to provide support and additional services from 1 room to 3 therapeutic rooms. equipped with the IKT technology - camera system, a PC, etc. - from 0 to 10. recruited trained, qualified workers - increasing employment in the region of Turiec count of 15 The project has managed to increase the energy savings capacity(complex reconstruction) from 0 to 40. provided guidance to 250 women. provided accommodation and social help to women

Summary of bilateral results

Thanks to bilateral cooperation, the project operatorwe was able to get very valuable advices and knowledge’s about the system of working with victims of violence and how the system works in the Nordic countries. The educational trips to Norway have been completed – specifically,the visit in two crisis centers - Romerike crisis center – who are the main foreign partners of the project. In this centers the project has devoted its attention to the system and techniques to help victims of violence. The bilateral partnership has contributed to the project in: exchanging experiences and example from practice, close cooperation with partners for very long period, exchanging social, psychological, humanity and educational literature, setting system of work in our safety women house BŽD POKOJ , periodically education, cooperation with police, labor office and many helping professions setting up 3 phase system of working with our client (1. Crisis, 2. Adaptation and 3. Stabilization)
