-Sport at every level has a positive impact, but particularly among young people and students it represents a way of social and personal development, and an effective tool for self-realization and self-discipline. -Objective of the project is the development of youth and student sports activities in an international context, as a very significant element for the development of young people’s personality and their participation in society. Its ambition is to teach young people entering life to identify, move and overcome their own personal as well as real and pervasive barriers and boundaries. - Development and popularization of student and youth sports, support of students participation on cross-border social activities and self-development, support of international cooperation organizations of youth and student sports, creating effective tools for cross-border communication and exchange of expertise. -By opening sports to every young person the project is directly pulling down the barriers of social inclusion across the borders. Supporting participation means ensuring suitable technical and professional conditions for the realization of sport activities.The main beneficiaries of the project activities are youth and students, whom under the guidance of renowned coaches and instructors will be able to train during the sport events at an international level. -Target groups to achieve are students, young adults and non governmental organisation. -With the support of international cooperation in the field of youth and student sports, there will be created new possibilities for expansion of development activities at the level of organizations, so that they will be able to more effectively support the concerned youth sports. Umbrella organizations of youth and students sports will have the possibility to obtain new international contacts and relevant partners for further improvement of their organizations activities through international collaboration.
Summary of project results
1/Considering, - the very complicated political, economic and social situation in Ukraine - low awareness of the Slovak public about the overall situation in Ukraine - Prejudice and misinformation that are frequent phenomena on both sides Projects such as the "International Youth Sport Partnership" CBC 01009 are very important to ensure: - better mutual communication especially with the young generation - school students with their teachers,instructors, coaches - Presenting the values that are the basis for a healthy development of society - interest in mutual understanding (people, culture, landscape) - Through sporting activities understanding the need to adhere to the rules of the game in order to succeed The fascinating sporting activities of the Project were the means of achieving these goals. 2/ All planned activities took place. 3/ The success of the Project is a very positive response from the participants of the various events from all Project Partners (Ukraine, Norway, Slovakia). The proof of this was: - great interest in organized events (for example on the Ukrainian side was a 60% greater interest than the available capacity. - great interest in continuing the project outside the Project Grant (in 2017, after the end of the project, we organized 7 successful events together with the Ukrainian partners)
Summary of bilateral results
Norwegian partner suggested that this project: • means a lot for the athletes who are given the opportunity to compete internationally and get experience and also get motivation to continue as athletes • means a lot for coaches and leaders who get the opportunity to share experience and knowledge (transfer of know-how) • is really about building friendship across borders, to expand the horizon and develop the understanding for each other culture. Through this project they worked for young people to have less prejudices, which means building peace in practice. • promotes many sports makes marketing, branding and visibility is much easier. Existing relationships facilitate organising international events • hosting intenational events increases the secondary effects (local income, visibility of the hosting city etc.)
