Description
The implementation of the project aims to achieve three basic results: 1: Development of an ECIBR Development Strategy. The first step will be the creation of capacity for the management, development, evaluation, and the Strategy. The starting point will be a comprehensive analysis of the territory, of its natural, social, economic, and legislative factors, relations, and links. After its development, the Strategy will be approved at an international conference of the involved parties and subjects and subsequently submitted to the governments and other competent bodies of Ukraine and Slovakia. On the basis of the approved Strategy, an institutional mechanism of cross-border exchange of information will be created with the objective to stabilise the co-operation, to regularly evaluate its results and, and, in the case of deviations, to adopt measures to correct further steps. 2: Creation of the missing institutional partners involved in the implementation of the Strategy and their subsequent networking. The main reason of the eccentric placing of weight on nature conservation aspects and the failing to fulfil the functions of ECIBR in the socio-economic area is the absence of a number of holders of interests in the decision-making process of the bodies responsible for the development and activities of the ECIBR. 3: The implementation of the pilot projects of socio-economic activities proposed in the Strategy. - Joint scientific, research and education programmes necessary for the development of the ECIBR with clearly defined short-term and long-term scientific and research projects and activities; - Intensive promotion of the objectives and missions of the Man and the Biosphere UNESCO programme and of the Convention on Biological Diversity and the stressing of the significance of biosphere reserves for the sustainable development of societies.
