Summary of project results

The internationalization process and the promotion of the university's image represent a priority for Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad (UAV). Expanding and strengthening UAV participation in EU programmes and structures is one of the goals and the EEA Programme was an opportunity to do so. Cooperation with the Norwegian university led to an increase in external visibility of UAV. The objective of the project was to facilitate students and staff mobility in both ways. All the expected mobilities were achieved: 2 outgoing student mobility for studies, 2 outgoing staff teaching mobility, 2 outgoing staff training mobility, 2 incoming staff teaching mobility and 2 incoming staff training mobility. The outgoing students learned in a very appreciated educational system (Norway being known as a country with one of the highest educational level in the European academic field). By participating in mobility, the outgoing teachers strengthened and expanded their careers, and promoted excellence outside the UAV, as well. Also, the project brought some Norwegian academic personalities in order to transfer know-how to UAV. UAV's students and teachers benefited from their didactic professional experience. Exchanging of students and teachers was a benefit for both institutions. The mobilities allowed the beneficiaries to internationalize, to compare educational systems, to learn about different cultures, and the participants to enrich their personal and professional careers, to open new horizons, to improve language competences.

Summary of bilateral results

Expanding and strengthening the Aurel Vlaicu University (UAV)’s international collaborations is one of their goals and EEA Grants Programme was an opportunity for them to do so. Once the partnership with the Norwegian university established, UAV will try to develop a project which refers to the establishing of a doctoral school in the Educational Sciences Faculty. The partner’s experience and good practice can be helpful for UAV to find the right curricula, to establish the gaps and needs to start this doctoral school. The partnership, which started through EEA Programme, continued by inviting the Norwegian teachers to participate in UAV’s international events and our teachers can lecture courses in Bergen University College. Under the partnership, 2 students of UAV received training in Bergen University College (BUC), 2 teachers had the chance to lecture there and 2 teachers were trained with the Norwegian teaching methods. Also, 2 teachers from BUC lectured in UAV and 2 were trained with the Romanian teaching methods. The partnership, which started through EEA Programme, continued by inviting the Norwegian teachers to participate in UAV’s international events and UAV teachers can lecture courses in BUC.
