Summary of project results
The project "Connecting minds, creating the future for the oceans" is a project of environmental education and education and scientific dissemination, whose main objective was to take the principles of ocean literacy as well as the teaching and learning methodology of the project " Kit of the Sea "(EMEPC) subproject" The bridge between school and blue science "to Portuguese schools and countries belonging to the global network of the Caretakers of the Environment International (CEI) Foundation. The project culminated in the International Conference of the Caretakers of the Environment International Foundation - CEI2015 "Connecting minds, creating the future for the oceans", attended by about 300 students and teachers of secondary education in 22 countries. The project presented, as a goal, the application of the methodology proposed by Kit do Mar, during the school year, to 100 students from secondary schools in the CIS network. In addition, 100 Portuguese students and teachers from secondary schools were expected to participate and 200 students and teachers from the international CIS delegations participated in the International Conference CEI2015 "Connecting minds, creating the future for the oceans", being indirectly involving the schools and classes to which the students of the delegations belong, with a total estimated 15 thousand students and teachers. In this way, it was estimated that the educational resources of the project "Kit do Mar" subproject "The bridge between school and blue science" would be disseminated to the national and international school community and a significant increase in the number of visits to electronic sites "Knowing the Ocean" and "Kit of the Sea", estimating approximately 5,000 views. Finally, 30 posters of the school projects were created, 30 teasers on the theme of the project and 30 projects were presented during the International Conference CE2015 "Connecting minds, creating the future for the oceans".
