Summary of project results

Dietetics is a field of science intensively developing in Poland due to the increasing number of diet-dependent diseases. Studies show that the demand for skilled professionals in the field of health promotion is growing – dietitians are considered to be important resources for the future. In response to the market demand, the KWSPZ conducted a project whose main objective was to develop the educational offer by creating a new specialization of graduate studies "Organic food and dietetics". Graduates of the above mentioned specialization will obtain professional qualifications – in accordance with the requirements applicable in health care – to work individually in the field of nutrition, including diet therapy. The overall project objective was to increase the educational potential of Polish higher education institutions with a new course at Master‘s level called “Ecological Food and Dietetics”. This was achieved achieved by developing the curriculum of a new specialisation and teaching materials with a special focus on environmental aspects (i.e. the impact of climate changes on nature and man, ecology of soil, waters, air, organic crops and animal breeding). The organization of numerous conferences, workshops and seminars and the participation in organic fairs resulted in popularization of knowledge on organic food and dietetics Detailed results: 1.
