Description

Aim of the project – to improve the accessibility and quality of youth-friendly health care services (YFHCS) in Klaipėda city municipality by implementing YFHCS model in accordance with the needs of Klaipėda city municipality young people by: 1) establishing and equipping YFHCS coordinating center in Klaipėda University Health sciences faculty premises, which will carry out YFHCS coordinating, case management, consultation functions; 2) administrating the youth health portal (Portal) at municipal level; 3) adapting and applying 4 Algorithms (sets of rules how to bahave in different situations solving problems) in priority areas of the YFHCS provision at municipal level; 4) developing inter-institutional cooperation and building capacity of key YFHCS providers in the municipality; 5) organizing trainings of volunteers for provision of consultations; 6) applying information technologies for promoting YFHCS; 7) providing parents education on teenagers sexuality issues; 8) organizing 10 youth health promoting trainings and 1 promotional event; 9) developing community-based (mobile) YFHCS: 14 youth health promoting initiatives in provincial areas of the municipality; 10) establishing 3 publicly available free exercise machines in public space.

Summary of project results

The project improved the accessibility and quality of YFHCS in Klaipėda city municipality by implementing YFHCS model in accordance with the needs of Klaipėda city municipality young people. The project results: 1) YFHCS coordinating center in Klaipėda University Health sciences faculty premises established and equipped. The center will carry out YFHCS coordinating, case management, consultation functions; 2) 4 Algorithms in priority areas of the YFHCS provision at municipal level adopted and presented to specialists working with young people and society; 3) mobile apps „Jausti“ („Feel“) developed; 4) inter-institutional cooperation and building capacity of key YFHCS providers in the municipality developed; 5) trainings of volunteers for provision of consultations organized; 6) information technologies for promoting YFHCS applyed; 7) parents education on teenagers sexuality issues organized; 8) 10 youth health promoting trainings organized; 9) community-based (mobile) YFHCS: 14 youth health promoting initiatives in provincial areas of the municipality developed; 10) outdoor fitness equipment installed.
