Description

The objective of the project is to renovate a building of the Siauliai district youth center in order to improve the quality of services provided. During the project, the youth centre building will be reconstructed, new equipment and furniture will be bought, co-operation with institutions working with the target group will be developed and the network of cooperation between the youth centers will be strengthened. The project outputs are one renovated building, 70 computers and other equipment, 65 pieces of sports and other equipments, 247 furniture units, five partnership events, and six trainings for youth.

Summary of project results

Šiauliai district youth, like all the others today, are faced with challenges such as: confusion of parents in bringing up their children, different family forms of living together outside of marriage, growing number of children born, elderly employment, parental migration abroad, the media and the media impact on growth, consumption growth. The presence of a constant voltage, alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use increase, growing distrust and frustration formal education system, which manifests itself as school absenteeism, increases and social exclusion. These reasons motivated the project promoter to implement the project “Šiauliai district youth center - infrastructure and service modernization”. The main aim of the project was to improve existing youth center while updating services and ensuring their quality and availability. During implementation of the project youth center facilities were updated and adapted to new activities, The inter-agency co-operation with institutions working with the target group of young people was developed and the network of cooperation between different Youth centers was strengthened. Implementation of the project undoubtedly increased the well-being of young people at risk by increasing amount of activities, provided for youth, especially those from disadvantaged families and improving quality of the services provided.
