Description

Rimse region (in Ignalina district) is a rural area, so there is lack of qualified specialists and there are no educational institutions with extra-curricular activities for children and young people. The project goal is to increase the welfare of children and youth at risk in rural areas. The project will establish the Children's Day Centre with an open youth area and create a high-quality social services package, which will use new and innovative methods to reach children, youth and families. The project results will be beneficial to children at risk, their families and young people, as well as the surrounding area‘s children and young people, particularly by preventing threats, such as criminality. The project will be implemented with a partner - Ignalina district municipality - which will donate a building and contribute financially.

Summary of project results

Rimse region (Ignalina district) is a rural area, therefore before the project implementation it lacked qualified specialists and there were no children's and youth education institutions with part-time activities. Since 2007 There are no formal and informal educational institutions in Rimse City School (due to the decrease in the number of children). In the Ignalina district district, the network of social services for these groups is not widely developed for consumers, and they have devoted little attention to the lack of variety of services and poor accessibility. Some rural households do not have sufficient social skills and motivation to manage their lives independently and can’t free their children, use them psychologically and physically to get state support for family needs. The project aims to increase the well-being of children and young people at risk for rural areas. The project created a Children's Day Center with an open youth area and developed a high-quality social service package that uses new and innovative methods for reaching children, young people and families. Project outcomes are useful for children at risk, their families and young people, as well as for children and young people in the surrounding regions, especially in the prevention of threats, such as crime. The combined social assistance for children and young people now is as close as possible. The project was implemented with the partner Ignalina District Municipality, which donated the building and financially contributed.
