On average there are about 360 risk group children in one municipality. However, only 2-3 child day care centers operate in one municipality, so only a few dozen of children can use their services. According to Statistics of Lithuania, 289 risk group families with 606 risk group children recorded in Vilnius district municipality in 2012. The aim of the project "Expansion of child day care center "Metų laikai" – was to contribute to the well-being of risk group children developing activities of CDCC “Metų laikai”. During the project implementation, the CDCC “Metų laikai” conditions were developed by: improving a material base, expanding services and developing intern-institutional cooperation. After implementation of the Project around 40 risk group children are using services of CDCC. In addition, a "family empowerment" service, helping to develop social skills of risk group families, enhancing their motivation to solve problems constructively, providing knowledge and developing skills to overcome crisis and express feelings, was created. Special attention is paid for the importance of human relations during the implementation of “family empowerment” service.
