Description

The aim of the project is to promote an active presence of employers and associations in the social dialogue. This will support the exchange of information and experience among companies, workers, and public authorities, and promote the development of social dialogue in Slovakia more generally. The project plans to develop and establish a strategy on social dialogue. Such a strategy will increase the quality of the dialogue. The project activity will start by analyzing the current situation in the field of the employers´ representatives. The project activity will also benefit other social partners. The key step in achieving the aim of the project is the creation of information databases for representatives of employers, which will provide a baseline analysis of the current environment. This will identify not only the current situation in the field, but also employers' most important challenges to meeting their requirements in the social dialogue.

Summary of project results

The aim of the project was to promote an active presence of employers and associations in the social dialogue and to build up and strengthen social partnership. The main activities performed during the project implementation were related to: - 4 workshop on the decent work and social dialogue organized; - 3 seminars on improvement of social dialogue organized; - 2 conferences on social dialogue and collective bargaining held; - 1 analysis on “Business Environment and Competitiveness of Slovakia” developed. The project outputs were the following: - More than 500 representatives of social partners and trade unions aware about the social dialogue structures; - Communication strategy acquiring new social partners developed; - Informational database developed; - Proposal of the memorandum between the government and employers; - In connection with the results of the analysis a strategy has been developed addressing the association of new members, improve the position of representatives of employers in social dialogue at the tripartite and bipartite level. The project outputs have contributed to: - Achieving more efficient application of the results of social dialogue and negotiation to coordinating actions of representatives of employers; - Promoting a room for interaction in the form of seminars, workshops and conferences, where participants will learn more about on-going activities in the field of social dialogue; - Promoting an active presence of social dialogue among employers and associations to support the exchange of information and experience among parties actively involved (companies, workers, public authorities) and to promote the development of social dialogue in the Slovak Republic.
