Description
In the wider territory of Cerovlje there is only one children's playground which is not suitable for parents with baby carriages, or handicapped people. That's the main reason why this playground is neither used nor known as a place for social interactions. In little rural areas like here, this kind of places are not just physical places and meeting points, but symbolical places which indicate the level of care for the members of the community, especially the ones with specific needs, as well as an indicator for sustainable development and investment in the future. This project and its activities are going to help to build more tolerant local community and strengthen the ties between its members. Through workshops for children and their parents there are going to be promoted the values of tolerance and coexistence, as well as mutual helping and understanding. Via examples of their disadvantage fellow citizens, it is going to be talked about the consequences of discrimination and hate speech. At last through institutionalized, home education and healthy community project will influence the youngest members of society so they could one day became healthy adults.
Summary of project results
This action involved over 100 different participants from wider territory of Cerovlje county, children, young people, adults, children with growing disabilities and persons with disabilities. Through different activities it was talked about tolerance, solidarity and difficulties for disabled persons.They strengthened parenting competences, repealed hate speech and encouraged new ways of communication. That way association Cerovlje integrated marginalized groups, such as children with growing disabilities and persons with disabilities, in different activities so that they have a sense of belonging to the community, while on the other hand they rose awareness about the problems they face every day and inform other members of community about their problems and needs. With this action they succeeded to fix existing children's playground which is now place for friendship and spending pleasant time together.
