Description

Hanna Fauske is a member (bass and vocals) of the Norwegian rock band Lucky Malice, together with Linda Elise Haug and Anna Karine Brække. The rock band was established ten years ago and has a strong feminist perspective, inspired by the Riot Grrrl-movement (Movement founded in the USA in the 1990s). Lucky Malice has released three records: Young and Breastless (2008), Split EP (2010) and Homme Fatale (2012). The result of the project will be The Lucky Malice Spain Tour 2014. In twelve concerts the group will visit several regions during the month of April; Catalonia, Aragon, Basque Country, Cantabria, Valencia, Castilla-La Mancha and Madrid. Lucky Malice has already toured twice in Spain. The experience showed that their music genre have an especially strong foundation there. The outcome of the project is the promotion of Norwegian contemporary music. The group will expand their network and interact with Spanish bands and cultural collectives. The aim of the project is to inspire women (through the songs with a feminist perspective) to express freely. Furthermore, the three girls in Lucky Malice aim at being an inspiration for political active youths in Spain.

Summary of project results

Hanna Fauske is a member (bass and vocals) of the Norwegian rock band Lucky Malice, together with Linda Elise Haug and Anna Karine Brække. The band plays punk music, a genre that belongs to a cultural scene not known for its women. The aim of the project was to inspire women (through songs with a feminist perspective) to express freely. Furthermore, Lucky Malice aimed at being an inspiration for politically active youths in Spain. The result of their mobility project, where they travelled from Norway to Spain, is the Lucky Malice Spain Tour 2014. From 11 until 19 April the group held nine concerts in eight of Spain’s regions (Aragón, Valencia, Murcia, Almería, Madrid, Basque Country, Cantabria and Asturias). Two of the concerts took place at festivals, the Minimutal festival in Asturias and a solidary festival in Cantabria. Indeed, on most occasions, they played together with local bands and in that sense broadened their network through music. Additionally, they made a short documentary of the tour. The feedback from the public was very positive and to a large degree, the group managed to reach women in the alternative underground scene in Spain with their message.
