Description

The objective of the project is to promote the social and professional integration of women belonging to three vulnerable groups (immigrants, single women with dependent children and carers looking after disabled people) starting with the development of their employability as a key factor in preventing social exclusion that comes from their life and work paths, helping to reduce social and economic inequalities. The partners will exchange knowledge and experience gained during the process, to analyse what conditions make these women particularly vulnerable, the initial reality and the obstacles they face and the potential that they can offer to the labour market. Then the results will be applied to the beneficiary users of the project, concluding with the preparation of a document that includes the methodologies and key recommendations to improve the results of actions undertaken by the recruitment agencies in the integration.

Summary of project results

The goal of the project was to promote the participation in the labour market of women from these three vulnerable groups. More concretely, the project aimed to develop a new method of integration for women from these groups. To shape this new method, the project aimed first to share experiences from professionals on this field, and second test the new method with women from the mentioned groups in order to adjust it to real situations. First, a workshop has been organized to share experiences and lessons from professionals that work in the labour insertion of women, leading to the development of a tailored method for women of the three mentioned vulnerable groups. This method has been put into practice with the purpose of testing it through an itinerary of improvement of employability. The method has been tested by 45 women, and 42 of them have achieved the objective of employability improvement (according to surveys responded by users and by diagnoses made by the working team. Employability is considered by several factors, such as working skills, job seeking skills, ITC, work-life balance, personal autonomy, or networks). Participants have filled a survey to provide feedback about the effectiveness of the method and actions performed. According to this, the utility of the method was rated by the participants from the three partner organizations on 4.81 points over 5; 4.79 over 6; and 5.5 over 6. Finally, the method initially suggested has been revised by the working team after the testing with the pilot group. This has led to a clearer definition of participant profiles, employability factors, methodological key points for intervention, and policy recommendations. Finally, the programme activities and outcomes have been disseminated through events and a webpage (see above).
